There are many days that I catch myself doing the math in my head…
My age. The timing. All the detours. All the years that didn’t go the way I had planned them to go.
I’ve restarted way more than once in my life. Not the clean, inspirational kind of restart either. It’s the kind where you’re tired, embarrassed, and carrying the weight of everything that didn’t work in the past. I’ve watched things I worked so damn hard for fall apart. I’ve had moments where all my momentum just disappeared… my confidence dropped, and I wondered if I’d already burned my best chances at success.
There were a lot of times where I felt late to everything. Late to stability… late to clarity and understanding… late to becoming the man I wanted to be. I’d look around and see people who seemed to be settled, steady, ahead, and I would ask myself if I’d missed my window of opportunity.
What I’m learning now is that life doesn’t keep score the way we think it does.
You can start over without starting empty!
You can start late without starting wrong!
You can fail repeatedly and still be learning the exact lessons you need to be learning!
Every time I had to rebuild, I carried things with me… perspective… humility… discernment… a deeper understanding of what actually matters and what I’m no longer willing to chase. Losing things didn’t erase the growth that happened while I had them.
Failure didn’t disqualify me… It refined me!
Success isn’t reserved for people who get it right the first time. It belongs to people who are willing to stand back up when it would be easier to stay down. It belongs to people who stop pretending the setback is the ending.
You can’t teach experience!!
If today feels like a reset, that doesn’t mean you’re behind. It might mean you’re finally honest and honesty is often where the real momentum starts.
Still possible... Still allowed… Still yours to build.
