I don’t speak from theories… I speak from scars.
From long nights where my mind won’t shut up and the room feels louder than it should. To moments where shame creeps in quietly and tries to convince me I’m still who I used to be. From battles with addiction that didn’t look dramatic on the outside but were brutal on the inside. To long stretches of silence where I didn’t know how to explain what was happening inside me, so I just said nothing at all.
There’s a difference between knowing something and surviving it.
I’ve read the books. I’ve heard the quotes. But the things that actually changed me came from wrestling with my own thoughts, my own habits, and my own reflection when no one else was around.
Anxiety taught me how fragile control really is. Shame taught me how heavy secrets can become if you hold them in. Addiction taught me how easy it is to lose yourself while convincing everyone you’re fine. Silence taught me that ignoring pain doesn’t make it disappear… It just prolongs it.
I didn’t learn strength from winning every fight. I learned it from getting back up after losing a few of them. I learned it from admitting I was tired… asking for help when my pride screamed not to… staying when running felt easier.
If my words land, it’s not because they’re polished. It’s because they’re earned. They come from lived moments, not borrowed language. From scars that remind me where I’ve been and why I choose differently now.
Today, I’m still learning. Still healing. Still paying attention.
