Loyalty… it sure as hell isn’t common anymore…
Everybody talks about it like it’s some badge they wear, but the moment things get uncomfortable, inconvenient, or just plain boring, they fold. They switch sides, they disappear, they start moving funny. Staying solid requires something most people don’t have… consistency when it’s not benefiting them!
I’ve seen it in business, in friendships, in recovery, and in life. People love you when you’re easy to love. When you’re winning, when you’re useful, when you’re giving them something they want. But the second you go quiet, the second you struggle, the second you stop playing a role that benefits them, they drift away. No conversation, no honesty… just distance dressed up as “life getting busy.” That’s not loyalty... that’s convenience wearing a mask.
Real loyalty is rare because it actually costs something…
It costs time… it costs patience… It costs ego. It means standing next to someone when there’s nothing in it for you. It means not switching up just because your feelings got hurt or your expectations weren’t met. It means you don’t rewrite your commitment every time your mood changes. Most people can’t handle that. They’re too used to treating relationships like subscriptions they can cancel whenever they feel like it.

If you’ve been through enough in life, especially if you’ve fought your way through trauma, addiction, or rebuilding yourself from the ground up, you start to see this shit clearly. You start to feel the difference between people who are rooted and people who are just passing through. One brings stability and other brings BS.
Here’s the part people don’t want to hear… if you want loyalty in your life, you have to be loyal first. Not just when it’s easy to be or when it’s convenient but when it’s uncomfortable. When it would be easier to just walk away. When nobody would blame you for leaving. That’s where your character shines.
Being loyal isn’t about clinging to people who treat you like garbage. Let’s not twist it into that. It’s about being solid in who you are. It’s about not becoming the same kind of flaky, inconsistent person that hurt you. It’s about choosing integrity.
Be the one who doesn’t switch up…
Be the one who doesn’t disappear when things get quiet…
Be the one who means what they say...
That kind of person stands out. That kind of person is rare.
Rare people don’t chase attention… they attract respect.
